📆 Calendar quote of the day:
“Growth and comfort do not co-exist.”
🤔 Respectfully… I disagree.
I believe growth and comfort can and should co-exist. 💡
In my Grit & Resilience presentation, I remind people that sometimes, choosing “comfort” is actually choosing what matters most—the people you love. ❤️🏡
🔹 There’s a big difference between avoiding growth out of fear, which can often feel overwhelming and paralyzing, and the conscious decision to decline opportunities that pull you away from what truly matters in your life and career.
The former, rooted in fear, can manifest as anxiety about stepping outside of your comfort zone, leading to missed chances for personal development and professional advancement. This type of fear can be daunting, but it is also something that a skilled coach can help you navigate. Through various techniques and supportive strategies, a coach can assist you in confronting these fears, enabling you to embrace growth opportunities that may initially seem intimidating.
On the other hand, the latter involves a more intentional decision-making process, where you assess potential opportunities and recognize that not every chance to advance or expand is aligned with your core values and long-term goals. In this scenario, it is crucial to differentiate between what may appear to be a beneficial opportunity and what genuinely resonates with your personal values. This discernment is essential for maintaining focus on what truly enriches your life and aligns with your priorities, allowing you to cultivate a path that is fulfilling and meaningful. 🚦
🚫 Not every promotion is worth missing time with your spouse, your children, or an aging parent.
💡 You can love where you work, but remember: organizations are not capable of loving you back.
Growth doesn’t have to mean sacrifice at all costs.
Sometimes...the most powerful growth is choosing to stand still, stay present, and prioritize what truly fills your cup. ☕
